Prepare for a delightful evening of comedy and unforgettable music as the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra presents Gioachino Rossini’s iconic opera, Il Barbiere di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville). Based on Pierre Beaumarchais’ classic French comedy, this opera is a lively tale of love, deception, and the witty barber Figaro, filled with humor and energetic performances.
Under the direction of Denise Mulholland, this new production boasts a talented international cast, including Leonardo Ferrando as the charming Count Almaviva, Felipe Oliveira as the scheming Don Bartolo, Heather Lowe as the clever Rosina, and André Morsch as the beloved barber, Figaro. Pavlo Barakin (Basilio), James Agius (Fiorello), and Alexandra Camilleri Gambin (Berta) complete the stellar lineup. The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by Maestro Michael Laus, while a male choir from KorMalta, led by Riccardo Bianchi, adds vocal depth to this vibrant performance.
