History in a new light: Museums by Candlelight – Valletta

On the evening of Saturday 21st June, the streets of Valletta will be lit up with thousands of candles guiding your way to five mesmerising historical sites, enchanting visitors all through the night.

Following the resounding success of Museums by Candlelight in Birgu, Heritage Malta is now extending this concept to the capital city. From 7pm till midnight, the National Museum of Archaeology, the Grand Master’s Palace, and MUŻA – Malta’s National Community Art Museum, along with St John’s Co-Cathedral and the Church of St Catherine of Italy, will all be candlelit and open to the public with a €5 ticket covering all five sites.

Make the first night of summer 2025 a memorable one, as you journey through centuries of history and heritage! Join a guided tour at the cathedral, enjoy live music while sipping on some whites or reds, and experience thrilling re-enactments in magical ambiences.
